One of the daily struggles of being vegan in India is the serious dearth of distribution companies that deliver vegan products of all types to the doorstep. But that’s history now. Drum roll… Introducing India’s first exclusively vegan distribution company – Vegan World! It is primarily a B2B distribution company that deals directly with vegan brands and supplies essential vegan products to retail stores and to homes via delivery partners like Swiggy and retail stores. Vegan World works just like any other distributor in a supply management chain, but solely for vegan products.
The distribution company aims to bridge the gap in the supply of essential vegan goods in the Eastern part of India, starting with Kolkata and West Bengal state. Vegan World kick-started its services on 1 March 2020 with two retail stores in Kolkata and expanded operations since its launch. Currently, it’s operational in Kolkata and Siliguri and will be soon making vegan goodies accessible for vegans in the district towns of Barrackpore, Kalyani, Nabadwip, Howrah, Durgapur and Midnapur in West Bengal. It has tied up over 25 (whoa!) retail stores as well as Spencer’s retail chain that now sell vegan products in their stores in Kolkata.
